Summer Mornings in Corfu Town

My love to Corfu Old Town has no end. This place makes me feel happy, inspired and thankful. It has its special feeling like you are the part of some fairytale and every of your steps in the town somehow has a meaning. I love every corner of this place and can't get enough of its beauty.

We used to walk in these streets all winter long without any tourists or sellers who are always trying to speak to us english and make us to buy anything in their shops. Besides, there is summer on the calendar and I can't ignore the fact that people from all over the world come to the island to see its unique places and enjoy warm greek sea and strong sun. Unfortunately, I'm feeling like all of these people steal my town from me. I am used to come to shop to drink coffee and have a place to seat. Now all of my favorite places are full with tourists and I can't even have a glass of coffee where I want to. I want my town back and I'm trying to come clear with my thoughts about this situation. However me and Pete are still having fun because of our knowledge of great local places which are hidden from the tourists.

We are always trying to find new shops and spots to feel calm and enjoy our time in Corfu. This way last week we have visited the absolutely pretty Tsibeato Bar which is located in a great place and serving an amazing coffee with chocolate cookies. And the other one is local shop Cafenio in a hidden street inside the city, where we could eat traditional greek bakery as Spanakopita and Bugaca.

The thing I'm very happy about is that every shop is welcoming my little pup and giving him a chair to enjoy the view and to lean in comfort. From other side, it's such a crowd in the town that my pup can't walk anymore down and I need to have him on my hands so that people don't step on him. It makes me a little bit sad and I would really love to have a special road for people who are having dogs.

Just imagine how cool it would be if your pup could feel safe and walk in a road without any danger from bike or one more grandfather who can't see anything in front of him. I'm worried about this thing and really believe it could be better.

This year we are not gonna spend the summer season in Corfu. It's so hot here and the humidity makes life more difficult. Next week we are going to the Northern Greece, pretty Florina Town. It's an absolutely charming place with local people, calm lifestyle and fresh air in the night from the mountains. I think I am gonna come back to Corfu Island in the autumn and continue to share with you more about what we are doing. Concluding, Florina town will be my home for the next few months and I will show you how beautiful it is in my next posts!
